Weekend Forecast: More snow today, then warmer; Plus: El Nino update (with permission)

April 29, 2010

Winter simply does not want to loosen its grip on Tahoe this year.

A cold Pacific storm that brought more than a foot of snow to the Tahoe region this week is finally edging its way east, but one last piece of energy swirling off the main low pressure system will keep the Basin's weather unsettled today.

Continued cold temperatures and scattered snow showers are in the forecast for the rest of today and into tonight, with the chance for a few scattered showers even lingering into Friday. Temperatures will barely get above freezing today around the Lake and will struggle to clear the high 20s at 7000 feet.

Surf Forecast (Mon) Weekly Synopsis (www.wetsand.com)

Today (Monday) it looks like we’re going to see some smaller clean swell filling in over the next couple of days, before a much larger groundswell hits for the end of the week, and the weekend. Wind and weather conditions appear to be almost ideal for many areas, with light offshore gradients in many areas, and dry weather.

Weekend forecast: Light snow possible Friday, but not the big one

November 25, 2009

Thanksgiving is shaping up to be a beautiful fall day across the Tahoe region, and the holiday weekend should be crisp but mostly fair and maybe a bit breezy. The next major storm for the basin is probably at least a week away.
